Even in the electronic age, people still buy from people and, recruiting, training and then retaining excellent sales people is far from easy. The problem is even more acute when it comes to recruitment and selection of sales managers.
Quite often, companies are forced to take on full-time sales people at extremely high cost, when they may only need a part-time or temporary sales resource.
Many
companies have sales people who are very effective at dealing with smaller
accounts, but are not yet at the stage where they can penetrate larger and
more lucrative 'blue-chip' accounts.
